Employer Identification Number (EIN) is also known as a Federal Tax Identification Number so yes Employer identification number is your Federal tax id you is your social security but not for personal but for business and remember is used to identify a business entity. Generally, businesses need an EIN. You may apply for an EIN in various ways, and now you may apply online you just need visit Internal revenue services web site and apply for free there is no annual fee.

No, you will not need a separate Federal Tax ID number for the Limited Liabality company LLC, if you are the sole owner ( you are only owner of this company) of the LLC and the LLC has no employees ( you dont hire anybody ) You will not need to get a separate Federal Tax ID number, because you pay you taxes on your social security number in schedule C, Schedule C is for LLC with no employee and also sole owner

You will only need an Employer Identification number if you hire employees. If you don't have employees, you can use your Social Security number. To apply for a EIN go to IRS.gov and search for Employer Identification number.

i think you just want to have an employer identification number if you hire some employes . if you dont hire employees then you can use social security number.
