1099 whats the best method

Default 1099 whats the best method - 05-29-2008
My hubby is an Over the road trucker and I just found out his new company requires him to pay his own taxes. I am freaking out I have no idea what that means or what to do from here. If you have any knowledge on this matter I would greatly appreciate it.

As a 1099 employee he does not have his taxes withheld. He will want to run a Schedule C as a self employed individual. He probably already keeps a log for his mileage runs, as this would be deductible too. Anything he pays for or buys such as his showers, new truck tires and etc is deductible.

If he has to pay anyhow then I think it'd be better to pay. Is it legal not to pay?
