Default My friend need tax help - 05-29-2008

Need tax help , my friend had someone take all his tax information and he said he would do them. My friend own a small business. He said he had to get an extension, the extension date has come and gone, and my friend cannot get a hold of him, he is worried.

Any ideas? Do he need a lawyer?

I think it would be a good idea to at least have a free consultation with a qualified professional to see what options are available and exactly how much trouble this could turn into if he is unable to contact the person who has possession of his information.

I also think it would be a good idea to call the tax people to let them know about his problem. The IRS is a lot easier to deal with if you make contact with them so they know that they are not being cheated.

I have advised him to hire some professional too. As its very difficult to handle by our own.

Does your friend have a copy of the information he gave to his tax preparer? If so I would recommend he go to someone else. If the tax preparer is registered then he can turn them in.

If you friend fail to file a tax on time and your friend have IRS extension and still fail to send check for his tax return as a result IRS can send him a notice to pay penalty, fees and charges with interest rates all will be like 5-7% of what he or she own!

Legal action is the way to go I think.. get in touch with a lawyer and discuss your available options. This could get messy if not dealt with in time..

When it time to resolve tax problem you should consult with your lawyer and tell them exactly what is the problem don't lie your lawyer or hide any important information that can actually help in your case, don't make your case even worse and try to save money by not hire professional lier because this may cost you much more than few thousand dollars! Trust professional lawyer ask a friend, family or co-worker for recommendation!

No need to go and hire a lawyer.. If needed frequent consultation is more enough.. Doing it on his own will give him a rapid thinking of making money more...
