Default Grocrey Shopping - 05-25-2008

While gas prices are rising so is food. The way prices are these days on food I have to watch what I buy. It's getting to the point for me do I put gas in my tank or eat?

Not only price of food drive me crazy!, I went to local Home Depot store and want to buy piece of wood it cost $17 dollars that my hour of work! in addition last week I bought furniture from Staples store and it cost $340 dollars for student desk! I have return and say missing parts, I bought few nails, hummer few woods, desk and borrow rest tools from my friend and build new desk and save $280 dollars!!

I'm trying to grow more in my garden this year to make up for rising food prices.

Creditguy, your message about comparing cost to the number of hours worked is a good one. It is something that I use often.

$17.00 is one hour of work for me too, but that is before taxes come out and transportation to and from work are figured in.

I definitely compare prices when I'm grocery shopping. We try to get the best deals we can at the big box stores like Costco.

You have to be able to use the amount you buy before it perishes, of course.

I don't compare food price because I don't have time to do it, I work as part time in Real Estate Business so I make good many selling house, since January 2008 I sell 6 house on each I got like $5,000 commision plus bonus! so pretty good money for part time job!

I am glad your real estate sales are doing well fcmoney. It seems many are not doing so well at the moment, real estate offices are closing down all over the place. It seems the only people who can afford to buy at the moment are the investors, buying while property is cheap.

I'm so glad that I rarely use my car. I can usually get to where ever I need to go by just walking or using mass transit.

Food prices are very high and because of that I don't buy some of the foods that I used to buy like cold cereal. I watch the prices for everything and try to shop at the cheapest places.

The price of everything is just sky rocketing.

Yes, as SKATSS said, the prices are just sky rocketing and its hard to get them over. But, The best you can save is at gas rather than at food. I don't really watch the prices while buying the consumable items. But, I just cannot bear the gas price.

Default point for buying a products! - 05-31-2008

This is really sad how grocery store increase price all the time,
Grocery store should give us a point for buying product and those point should be accumulated and then we can buy product for those point!

I agree, it is turning into something quite disturbing and I have to really look at my budget and be careful about where I drive to...hence why I hardly drive! Turning us all AWAY!
I dread to think what it's going to be like in a few years time...
