We are on a budget and are barely keeping our head above water, especially something unexpected happens. Like when my husband had to stay home from work for two days from the flu. It nearly sunk us because he works a rotating shift, so one week he has more money than the next.

Yes, you are 100% right. But its not easy to bedget, its just easy to tell other how they should save money. I always make budget but dont know when I split, usually I dont have money at the end of the month.

Default investment and money saving - 06-14-2008

Lot of people simple don't stick to a budget and don't have lot of money in saving account when they have case of emergency they start using credit card as well taking cash advance from a credit card and you know how much interest rates you pay when withdraw money from as cash-advance? probably close to 22% I know it better than taking payday loan but it much worse than having cash in saving account.. you should have cash cushion for 12 month in case you lost your job or you don't have a money to live! I have a cash advance in case I lost my job for 24 month so I have 2 years to look for good job.. and I don't care that I will not pay off my mortgage or credit card bill because I have accumulate good cash wealth and I own a lot of real estate that bring me those cash to my saving account.. and I invest money that is on my saving account with Mututal funds.. so I always make a triple return on investment! every year!

You're right! I have mentioned the same thing in other threads. Having a budget will keep you away from all the tensions and restlessness.
So, maintain a budget!
