Somebody at Dell is empowered to say "yes." You have to call and stay on the phone and when you are told "no" you need to ask for their supervisor. I had a similar issue with Compaq a few years ago and finally ended up talking to a Vice President who agreed to repair my laptop that was two weeks out of warranty. Just keep going at it until you find the person who is allowed to give you what you want. To be fair, you should be requesting something that is reasonable.

Default Dell computer and supervisor or boss? - 06-30-2008

I always ask for supervisor because supervisor have more " power" and can do more thing than employer if supervisor say not ask for their supervisor, most of the time their supervisor don't work in front line and don't deal with people because they seat in office and count money but still you can ask to speak with them they refuse and saying I may help you in this situation and I am sure we can find solution.. because supervisor don't want to get warming from their boss.. you know few warming and supervisor need to find new and better job
