Default Equifax is ruining my life - 12-01-2007

Hello everyone,
Curious to find out if anyone here knows why Equifax gives scores so much lower than the other Credit Bureaus
I am currently trying to get an car loan but the rates I'm being offered are horrible. Everytime when I apply for a car loans my Equifax score is down.
I have purchased all 3 of my reports with real FICO scores, and even though they are all pretty much identical my Equifax score shows as 658; whereas, Experian and Transunion show as 702 and 712 respectively. Why would FICO calculate them differently? Isn't it the same formula for each?

I appreciate any info regarding the situation.
Thanks

The obvious reason would be some of the things affecting your score may be present in Equifax's report, but not in the others like Experian and TransUnion.

If that's not the reason, each agency has a different system for calculating their score. If they were all the same, there wouldn't need to be more than one. Each agency has what they consider to be the best formula for predicting credit risk, so they end up with different scores.

my understanding is that Equifax's scores are more influenced by credit utilization than the others - so if you have a high usage on any of your credit cards, that's probably it.

TransUnion-685,
Equifax-703
Experian-719

As you see my Experian credit score is much higher than TransUnion because TransUnion is not showing all of my credit cards. Equifax credit score is always my middle credit score.

Keep in mind that the FICO score that you buy is not the score that the auto lenders get. There are different scores that are used solely for auto financing.

I am having the same problem with Equifax...My Equifax score is 35 points lower than my other FICO scores...I have examined the information from all 3 credit reports and everything is the same...Does anyone know how to get this corrrected.

Default Mortgage rate - 12-20-2007

My current FICO on Experian is 745 and I want to apply for chase credit card . I am scary that when chase will pull from my credit report from Experian , Trasnunion or Equifax will lower my score and I am in the way of applying for home mortgage for $300,000 so I am looking to get good rate less than 5.90% is possible.

It will lower your score by 5 point, Each inquire lower a credit score( in average) 5 points, if you made a inquire from a car dealer you may consider making lot of inquire in the first 2 weeks since a credit bureau count it as 1 inquire

You may send a inquire to credit bureau state that you wish them to remove a inquire about bankrupcy because you no longer are in "statue of holding" meaning that a credit bureau can hold your bankrucpy record for 7 years. If that not help you may consider filing a complain again Credit Agency in better business bureau or with Federal Trade Commision
