Employer Employee Insurance agency!

I know that this may be funny but I was a client on local insurance agency and a customer services representative or I can call this a Insurance agent ask me who is my employer i have ask him who is your employee? because I don't get what he mean by employer? he was laugh at me and tell me employer is a person that hire you but I say to him you are my employer.. and he was laugh and say to me I am not your employer as I am not hire you.. but I came here for interview! oh.. I am sorry! agent reply..

People may not understand what is the difference between employer and employee so that the reason insurance agent don't get this.. pretty much he was employee.. not employer.. or hire manager.. even hire manager is employee or manager is employee...Employer is only a person that hire you directly!
